Privacy
dabplus.live is designed to do the right thing by default: no advertising, no ad-trackers, no account. One privacy-respecting analytics tool (Microsoft Clarity) runs for anonymous heatmaps. Here's the complete breakdown of what data exists, where, and why.
What we collect
Nothing about you personally. The Flask app behind dabplus.live keeps standard server access logs (IP, request path, timestamp) for short-term operational purposes — debugging, abuse mitigation, capacity planning. These logs are not analyzed, not enriched, not shared, and rotate out within a few days.
- Live listener count — to show the number above (so you know dabplus.live is alive and other people are listening), the player sends a random session ID to the server every 60 seconds while audio plays. The ID is generated client-side, scoped to your browser tab, and the server discards it after 90 seconds. It is never linked to your IP, cookies, or any persistent identifier.
Cookies
We use two functional cookies plus the analytics cookies set by Microsoft Clarity (for anonymous heatmaps). No advertising cookies, no third-party advertising trackers.
last_country— remembers the country page you last visited, so the homepage opens there next time. Lasts 1 year.lang_<slug>— your manual language pick on a multi-lingual country (Belgium, Luxembourg, etc.). Lasts 1 year, scoped to that country slug only.
You can clear these in your browser's site-data settings at any time — the site keeps working, you just lose your country preference.
Third-party services
The page itself runs on first-party assets only — no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no advertising network. Three minor exceptions:
- Self-hosted typography — all fonts (Bungee Inline, VT323, Source Serif 4, Inconsolata) are served from this server's own /static/fonts directory. No Google Fonts CDN, no font-tracking, your IP never reaches a third party for typography.
- Radio stream servers are operated by each radio station. When you press play, your browser connects directly to that station's stream server — dabplus.live is not in the audio path.
- Donation links (Buy Me a Coffee, PayPal) point to external services. We only see the click; the donation flow happens on their site, under their privacy policy.
- Cloudflare sits in front of dabplus.live as a CDN and DDoS shield, so HTTP requests pass through their network before reaching our server. As part of normal proxying Cloudflare sees connection metadata (your IP, request headers); their own privacy policy applies for what they do with it. Our origin server only sees Cloudflare's edge-IPs in standard request logs. The real visitor IP, forwarded by Cloudflare in a
CF-Connecting-IPheader, is used transiently — only to check whether the current request is from an admin allowlist for the listener-count widget. It is never logged, hashed, or persisted in any database. - Microsoft Clarity runs a light analytics script for anonymous heatmaps and session replays — useful to see which buttons people find and which they don't. Text inputs are masked by default, no advertising is run on the data, and it is not sold to third parties. See Clarity's terms. You can block it with an ad-blocker without the site breaking.
Where the station data comes from
Radio station metadata (names, stream URLs, codecs, bitrates, countries) is pulled from Radio Browser, a community-maintained open database. We cache it locally and refresh daily.
Your rights
We hold no personal account data, no profile, no email list, no behavioral records that could be exported or deleted. If you believe a station's listing is wrong, contact us at info@dabplus.live and we'll look into it (and likely refer you upstream to Radio Browser).
